To strive for the purity of water, the clarity of air, and the wise stewardship of the land.
The Wildlife Achievement Chapter is the Izaak Walton League of America's chapter near Damascus, established in 1937.
The chapter has 120+ acres in northern Montgomery County. Programs include conservation, wildlife and environmental work, a 100-yard rifle range, 50 and 35-yard pistol ranges, air rifle, youth activities, Scouts, skeet, trap and 5-stand, Cowboy Action Shoots and social events.
Members help the town and people of Damascus with highway and stream cleanups, scholarships, hunter safety, youth programs, recycling and wildlife habitat.
Except for special events, training and sanctioned matches, the ranges are for members and their guests only.
The Izaak Walton League pledge
To strive for the purity of water, the clarity of air, and the wise stewardship of the land and its resources;
to know the beauty and understanding of nature, and the value of wildlife, woodlands and open space;
to the preservation of this heritage and to man's sharing in it, I pledge myself as a member of the Izaak Walton League of America.
